We are looking forward to the many up comiming concerts for the holiday season. HighLiter's first performance will be on December 11 at 3:00 at the First Presbyterian Church in Cadillac. Our big concert (all high school and middle school choirs) is December 15 at 7:30 at Rehoboth Reformed Church in Lucas. Looking forward to seeing you at one! Thank you for the continued support!

This week the choirs have been working on learning and polishing music for the Christmas Concert. Many of the students have been bringing in donations for the craft show next week. We are still in need of pop, chips, water and ground beef. Thanks to all of the families that have donated items, we are looking forward to the opportunity to raise some money for the New York trip!

I was very pleased with the concert last Thursday night. Thank you to all of the parents and families that came out to support the vocal music department. I thought all of the choirs did a really great job (especially for the first concert) and it is exciting to think about all of the talent that we have here. HighLiters have been out in the community through singing the National Anthem and then again last night at the Reformation Service at NMC. This week all of the choirs will start working on Christmas music. Looking forward to seeing parents at conferences.

The choirs are working hard to get ready for the upcoming concert on October 27 at 7:30 in the multi-use room. We have had the opportunity to work with our accompanist this week, so that has been really helpful in our preparation. HighLiters will be hosting a jeans dance after the last home football game against Marion. We hope to fundraise a little to help support the New York trip. The next payment of 125 is coming due by the end of this month.

I can't believe that we already completed the third week of school! What a fun beginning to the year! The middle and high school classes are working hard at learning their music for the first concert on Oct. 27th. They will perform in uniform for that concert, so some of the middle school students may need to get black dress pants (girls and guys) and white dress shirts (for guys) if you don't already have those items. There are some guys in HighLiters that will need black dress pants as well. Put Oct. 27 at 7:30 down on your schedule...we are looking forward to it!

It's been a good start to the school year! All of the Middle and High School Choirs are hard at work and learning music quickly. We have recently discussed the New York Trip and students should have brought home information on the trip. Many of the kids have already paid the $50.00 deposit or paid off the trip in full. They also brought home a paper with all of the concerts for the entire school year. These dates are important to put on your calendar at home as many of them are not on the school calendar.
